Tractive force is the number of waggons a freight engine can pull. Passenger trains are rated by the number of passengers they carry instead.
- It grows with the eras: from 2 to 4 for the first engines of era 1, up to 45 for the Olympe in era 6.
- Engines with several slots pull far more: Morphée 12, Poséidon 19, Centaure 33, Olympe 45.
- Research upgrades raise it. After adding waggons, reset the train's schedule.
- The Traction giant type is suited to routes off the ridge.
