Prestige
Prestige points rank players and associations; they are earned through deliveries, investments, competitions, titles, station buildings and medals.
Prestige points are earned throughout a round and make up the rankings: the players' ranking, and the associations' ranking.
The rankings
- The player ranking: the prestige each player has earned.
- The association ranking: an association's prestige is a collective total, equal to 10% of the prestige earned by each of its members.
When is prestige paid?
Much of the prestige is paid at the daily recalculation, at 00:00 UTC. The rest is paid on the spot: when a city or an industry levels up, when a competition ends, when a building upgrade completes, or when a medal is collected.
Supplying cities
A city asks for certain goods: only those earn prestige. Delivering goods the city does not ask for earns nothing, neither for the city nor for the player.
Delivery prestige is shared out according to the ranking of the suppliers:
- when the city levels up, the goods it no longer asks for pay out their prestige, and new goods take their place;
- the three other goods it asks for stay: their prestige is paid at the daily recalculation.
Supplying industries
A processing industry asks for one or more goods to produce. For example, cattle needs grain, and meat needs cattle: you can deliver grain to the cattle industry, or cattle to the meat industry. Deliveries to warehouses and harbours also earn prestige.
An industry pays out its prestige when it levels up, according to two rankings:
- the ranking of deliveries of the goods it asks for, over its current level: the player who delivered the most when it levels up earns the most;
- the ranking of investments: the player who has invested the most money in the industry at that moment earns the most.
Investments
Investing money earns prestige:
- in an industry, when it levels up (see above);
- in a city project: the top contributors earn prestige when the city levels up;
- by halving the passenger waiting time of a city: according to your rank among the donors, paid when the city levels up.
Competitions
A competition takes place every 6 hours (on an x1 server) in every city the player is connected to. It earns prestige, paid when the competition ends. The reward grows with the era of the round: a competition pays less in era 1 than in era 6.
Titles
Titles are awarded at the daily recalculation, over the last 24 hours, to the three best players of each category:
- a goods type: the total the player delivered anywhere, whether the goods were asked for or not, to cities and industries alike. For example, 20,000 coal delivered to a city and 10,000 to an industry make 30,000; if that is the best total of the day, the player takes the rank 1 title;
- passengers;
- money earned from transport.
The prestige depends on the rank and the era: 100 × the era at rank 1 (600 in era 6), 50 × the era at rank 2, 20 × the era at rank 3. A rank 1 title renewed the next day in the same category earns 50% more: 900 instead of 600 in era 6.
Titles add up: first in coal, first in hardware and first in money, a player receives all three.
Station buildings
- Every building upgrade earns prestige, specific to each building and each level: the Levels tab of each building gives the details.
- The Hotel also produces prestige at regular intervals, depending on its level and the server speed.
Workers
One worker gives raw prestige. The other workers boost sources already described here (city deliveries, industry deliveries…).
Medals
Medals are missions to complete during the round. Each one earns a fixed amount of prestige, paid when you collect it in the Medals menu.
Other sources, from the official help
- donations to the headquarters of the association, more for the first donors;
- exchanging the three coins of the lottery, for prestige if you choose it;
- in the endgame, delivering the goods required by the megacities.
