What it does

The Engine house sets how many trains can run at the same time. Bonus engines, the career engine, Pollux and Magnus do not count towards this limit. Upgrading it lets more trains run, and so raises your income.

Limits

• It always starts at level 1.
• Its maximum level depends on the era: level 7 in era 1, level 11 in era 2, up to level 25 in era 6.
• Over its 25 levels, it allows from 1 to 25 active trains, and from 5 to 125 trains owned (active trains plus the museum).
• Upgrades cost from $5,000 (level 2) to $10,000,000 (level 25), take from 5 seconds to 24 hours, and earn 2 to 200 prestige per level.

Good to know

• Trains beyond the active limit can be stored in the museum and reactivated later.
• Upgrade times are halved on x2 worlds and cut to a quarter on x4 worlds.
• The starter pack and the era packs of the shop each add one level.
